What should a new client know about working with you?

I am committed to a warm and empathetic therapeutic approach. Through our work, we will collaboratively develop and practice strategies to cope with stressors and reduce symptom interference in your daily life. We will explore the best ways to support your overall wellness and begin reorienting cognitive and behavioral patterns accordingly. My style of therapy is conversational and supportive with a focus on increasing mindfulness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
  • Our group, Willow Health, provides short term, virtual care for individuals in mental health crises. As a therapist, I work collaboratively with our team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, care managers, and certified peers to create personalized care plans. We also have a nursing after hours line to help with crises that occur after hours.
  • Our services are short term in nature, lasting between 8-12 weeks depending on your needs. This means that at the end of your time with us, we’ll make sure you’re connected to ongoing care and support to continue your recovery outside of Willow Health.
  • Getting started is simple. You can schedule an initial assessment as soon as today virtually, from the comfort of your home. Your first meeting will last about 90 minutes. You’ll talk with me and a psychiatrist or psychiatric NP who will help design a treatment plan that works for you. Depending on your needs, your care may include medication management, therapy (including specialized support for thoughts of self harm) and care management. Additionally you’ll have the option to participate in recovery coaching, which includes working with a peer recovery coach, someone who has lived experience with mental health and/or substance use, and who will support you through your recovery journey.
What is your therapy approach?

Ms. Donovan's approach to therapy is warm, conversational, and supportive. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, along with mindfulness-based techniques to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, you will develop practical strategies to manage stress, reduce symptoms, and support your overall wellness in a way that feels realistic and meaningful for you.
