Afifa Barone, DSW, LCSW

Afifa Barone, DSW, LCSW, is a Clinical Supervisor and behavioral health crisis clinician at Willow Health. She brings approximately 10 years of clinical experience, including more than eight years in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare system. Her background spans inpatient psychiatry, emergency psychiatric services, outpatient behavioral health, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention.

Afifa earned her Doctor of Social Work from Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work, with advanced training in clinical social work practice. At Willow, she provides clinical supervision and mentorship to therapists and collaborates with the multidisciplinary care team. Her clinical work emphasizes thoughtful assessment, collaborative safety planning, and continuity of care. She brings a compassionate, culturally responsive approach that recognizes each person’s strengths and supports movement toward greater stability, connection, and recovery.

Before entering clinical practice, Afifa supported U.S. Department of Defense military operations as a civilian contractor in overseas settings.
