
Christina Gerdes, MD
Christina Gerdes is double board certified adult psychiatrist and addiction medicine specialist with over 13 years of clinical experience in behavioral health care, clinical leadership, and healthcare strategy. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Science with a focus on community health. She completed her Adult Psychiatric Residency and Public Psychiatry Fellowship at Columbia University / New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI).
Dr. Gerdes has work in various clinical settings including psychiatric emergency rooms, inpatient psychiatric hospitalizations, outpatient psychiatric programs, collaborative care programs, start-ups, and private practice settings. As Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Willow Health, she developed and oversees the organization’s evidence-based clinical care model and clinical services.
Dr. Gerdes is an innovative physician leader experienced in driving the development and implementation of modern behavioral healthcare with a focus on value-based care, clinical quality, and population health outcomes. As a medical reviewer, Dr. Gerdes ensures all health content is evidence-based, accurate, and accessible for patients and caregivers. Her expertise spans topics such as depression, substance use, anxiety, and psychosis. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Gerdes enjoys exercise and hiking, which helps her maintain a balanced perspective on health and wellness.
