What should a new client know about working with you?

Dedicated to empowering her clients, Ms. Tappin tailors her approach to each individual's unique needs. Through compassionate guidance, she strives to create a supportive space for healing and self-discovery.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our group, Willow Health, provides short term, virtual care for individuals in mental health crises. As a therapist, I work collaboratively with our team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, care managers, and certified peers to create personalized care plans. We also have a nursing after hours line to help with crises that occur after hours. (This will not be with your regular care team).

Our services are short term in nature, lasting between 8-12 weeks depending on your needs. This means that at the end of your time with us, we’ll make sure you’re connected to ongoing care and support to continue your recovery outside of Willow Health.

Part of our services include an 8 week, virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for those who qualify. Be sure to let me know if you are interested in exploring this option.

Getting started is simple. You can schedule an initial assessment as soon as today virtually, from the comfort of your home. Your first meeting will last about 90 minutes. You’ll talk with a me and a psychiatrist or psychiatric NP who will help design a treatment plan that works for you. Depending on your needs, your care may include medication management, therapy (including specialized support for thoughts of self harm) and care management. Additionally you’ll have the option to participate in recovery coaching, which includes working with a peer recovery coach, someone who has lived experience with mental health and/or substance use, and who will support you through your recovery journey.

I'm looking forward to meeting you!

What is your therapy approach?

Respect, dignity, and compassion are at the heart of my approach to all clients. My primary area of expertise lies in working with children and adolescents, utilizing a family systems perspective. While this is my specialization, I also value and have experience supporting adults and geriatric populations. My training includes specific skills in crisis intervention and suicide assessment. I assist individuals navigating life's challenges, drawing on techniques from modalities such as Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
